Orthopaedics Book Reviews

Apley's System of Orthopaedics and Fractures, aka 'Papa Apley'

'Apley's System of Orthopaedics and Fractures is written with the medical student in mind. Easy-to-comprehend text that is succinct, coupled with well-selected pictures and good captions makes reading simple and high-yield for any orthopaedics topic. One downside is its physical size and cost.'

Apley's Concise System of Orthopaedics and Fractures, aka 'Baby Apley'

'If you are a minimalist, baby Apley can suffice as a textbook.  In this case, lecture notes should be used to supplement this text.'

Clinical Orthopaedic Examination by McRae

'McRae has good black and white drawn diagrams which show how to go about physical examination for orthopaedics.  A useful book to have.'

Orthopaedics and Fractures by McRae

'This book is a summary of McRae's two other books, and fits into the coat pocket making it really useful to carry around.'
